Rotary cutters:  18 mm and 28 mm (the most practical rotary cutter available)

Cutting mat

Scissors:  regular (embroidery optional)

Large tweezers like for beading

Waste sack (very messy technique)

Patterns are brought to class by Lenore.  Choose your fabric from the fabric requirements page for the pattern you choose to do in class.  Choices for this workshop are Yellow Poppies, Yellow or Magenta Cone Flower, One Poppy, and Red Poppies since they are the least complex for beginners.

Fabric according to pattern requirements:  Background fabric is needed for these patterns also at least 20" X 25" (50 cm X 65 cm).  When choosing your fabrics for the pattern, choose fabrics that have a gradation in tone from light to dark of similar colors.  Make sure you can see the difference between each shade of fabric.  This helps your design to have more depth.  Fabric requirements are given on this link.

Paint brushes:  ½" angular, ¼" angular, 1/8" angular, 0 flat, (Lenore gets hers at Michael’s or a craft store).   Look for very very small angular brushes if you can't find these exact numbered brushes.  This is a good mix of sizes from very very small to medium; I like to have very fine brushes for detail work.  Painting is demonstrated in this class.  Students can begin to paint on their projects if they have finished fusing them so bring brushes if you think you might want to do this.

Lenore supplies the following:  $15 required supplies fee paid in class

Pattern, 2 yds fusible web (Misty Fuse), parchment paper, freezer paper, fabric paints – Lenore will demonstrate how to use fabric paints in this class
