CONSTRUCTION OF AN ART QUILT
(Click on any picture to enlarge)

My studio where I am starting a new wallhanging on the flannel working board.

Work continuing on the new piece; 2" squares from many fabrics worked into an acceptable design.

Continuing on . . .
And on . . .
And on . . .

Squares sewn into rows and the rows then sewn together.

After the squares are sewn together, other embellishments are added to the piece.

The final piece with all extra embellishments such as the wrought iron in this one is then layered with batting and muslin backing, top-stitched, borders added, and the piece stretched over a wood frame. Then it's ready for others to enjoy!
